MySpace was Facebook before Facebook was Facebook, and now the social network is attempting to reinvent itself once again with its debut of a thoroughly rebuilt platform and anew iOS application.

News Corp. paid $580 million for MySpace in 2005, but the once-prominent social network faded quickly, with the media giant selling it to Specific Media for just $35 million in June 2011.
