A recent survey shows that 83 percent of businesses have created written guiding principles when it comes to the use of social media. In contrast, the number is just 43 percent last 2010, and 80 percent a year ago.
Despite more firms implementing these policies, however, there is actually a more laid back attitude towards social media use in companies. According to Mark Schoeff Jr. of Investment News, “the number of firms prohibiting the use of social media – such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn – has declined to 49% this year.” In 2012, that number is 54 percent.
