The survey was conducted by the Children’s Digital Media Center of UCLA, and led by researcher Yalda Uhls. It involved 334 kids aged 9 to 15 years old. Close to 50 percent of the respondents said that they use social networking sites. Among those less than 13 years of age, 26 percent said they have an account on YouTube, while 23 percent said they use a social media website.
