Facebook Associating Brand Pages With Link Posts

The next time you post a link on Facebook, you may be surprised. The platform has been finding existing Facebook Pages associated with content in links and prompting users to Like the Page after the content is posted.

We first noticed this new feature in mid-February when sharing a YouTube video of the Guns N’ Roses song “Patience,” which was featured on the Warm Bodies soundtrack (screenshot above). Immediately after the link was published, a Like Page button appeared, as well as a link to the Guns N’ Roses Facebook page.

Just to make sure it was a feature that would persist, we did another test with the same link in late February, and again it associated the link content with the Guns N’ Roses Facebook page.
